What to Expect - Week #9, Season 23
For Week #9 – August 8 — of the 2019 FACSAP Summer Harvest, we anticipate the following this Thursday:
BLENHEIM ORGANIC GARDENS – Lawrence and Becky Latané, Courtney Fishback
Large-leaf Italian basil -- makes great bacon, tomato and basil sandwiches.
GREEN THUMB GROWERS – Tom Miller
Green Thumb Growers won’t have another delivery until the winter squash grow and mature sometime in the end of September.
HARTLAND NATURAL FARM – Jamie Whitaker
[Members select: 2 units for large shares and 1 unit for small shares]
Eggplant - mostly a lavender and white, fat Italian variety - OR - Potatoes
GUERRA FARM – José Antonio Guerra Martinez

DOWNTOWN GREENS YOUTH FARM PROGRAM – Jennifer Gron
Members may choose from this week’s Harvest Treasure Chest: assorted herbs, peppers, ground cherries, eggplant or okra.

CARDINAL APIARIES – Pete Burt
We have started preparing this year’s honey harvest for FACSAP members. Members who have purchased full-season Summer Shares have the honey included with the shares.
The honey is not included for the10-Week or 4-Week short-season shares, but they will have the option to purchase from the extra jars of honey Pete will deliver. Please stop by «Side Share» table to reserve your honey, or extra honey.
FOLK CITY SOAP – Heidi Lewis
This year’s soap bars, made especially for FACSAP members, are ready! They will be delivered later in August. There will be a choice of Litsea or Lavender bars this year. Members who have purchased the full-season Summer Shares have the soaps included with the shares.
The bars are not included for the 10-Week or 4-Week short-season shares, which will have the option to purchase one of the 25 extra bars Heidi will deliver. You may reserve either the Litsea-scented or Lavender-scented bar. The cost is $7.50 each. Please stop by the «Side Share» table to reserve your bar, or to reserve an extra bar.
KICKSHAW’S GLUTEN-FREE BAKERY – Kathy Craddock
Back by popular demand, the 85% Certified Organic Gluten-Free Bread Shares! Sign up forms will be available at the «Side Share» table at Thursday’s pick-up for reserving your Bread Share. Delivered each Thursday in conjunction with the FACSAP Summer Harvest.
GOLDEN ACRES ORCHARD – John Thomson & Mrs. Scottie Thomson
We are delighted to be receiving the Additional Purchases of Apple Juice and Apple Cider Vinegar this week, August 8, delivered by John from directly from the Orchard in Front Royal. If you did not get a chance to sign up, some extra jugs of juice and bottles of vinegar will be available at the «Side Share» table. Please bring your payment in cash or checks payable to «Golden Acres Orchard».
