What to Expect: Week #10, Season 22
For Week # 10 of the 2018 FACSAP Harvest, we anticipate the following this Thursday, July 26:
BLENHEIM ORGANIC GARDENS – Lawrence & Becky Latané
Sweet Corn
Sun Gold Tomatoes
Juliet Tomatoes
DOWNTOWN GREENS YOUTH FARM PROGRAM – Jennifer Gron
From the Youth Farm Harvest Treasure Chest selections this week, each Share may choose from:
assortment of peppers (hot and sweet)
ground cherries
fresh herbs
The recent rains were very much needed, though I would have preferred to receive them in smaller doses. Our summer crops are starting to come into heavy production so expect to see peppers and ground cherries included in the selection for the next few weeks (and possibly some okra). We have dug up potatoes and pulled out our spring beans and greens plantings and are prepping the beds to receive a second planting to include more beans and greens, as well as Brussels sprouts and winter squash starts. We will be offering a half day summer camp experience during the week of August 13, to include some fun garden and canning projects that we can't get done during our normal 1.5 hour weekly meeting, and are welcoming additional children to join us for that program. The camp will be for children who have completed grades 3-5. You can get more information about this day camp opportunity by contacting Jennifer atalleygron@yahoo.com.
HARTLAND NATURAL FARM – Jamie Whitaker
Arugula
Large Slicing Tomatoes
GUERRA FARM – José Antonio Guerra Martinez

Shelling Beans on vine
CARDINAL APIARIES – Pete Burt
Each member will receive a jar of delicious raw, organically grown honey in this week’s harvest share from your beekeeper, Pete Burt!
