What to Expect: Week #5, Season 22

For Week #5 of the 2018 FACSAP Harvest, we anticipate the following this Thursday, 21 June:

BLENHEIM ORGANIC GARDENS – Lawrence & Becky Latané

  • Napa Cabbage,

  • Mustard (either bunched or bagged)

  • Head lettuce

Daikon radishes are not ready yet, nor are yellow squash as I had to replant both of those crops after they were flooded out the first time.

GREEN THUMB GROWERS – Tom Miller

No harvest this week. Kohlrabi is still one to two weeks from maturity. There may be a second cutting available on the Lacinato and Red Russian kale next week. Small amounts of lettuce mix may continue for another week. I will keep you posted on these products. Thank you.

DOWNTOWN GREENS YOUTH FARM PROGRAM – Jennifer Gron

Each Share member may select an item from the Harvest Treasure Chest which will include:

  • Bunching onions

  • Mustard greens

  • Baby kales

HARTLAND NATURAL FARM – Jamie Whitaker

Good afternoon! This week is slim here at Hartland Farm, the tomatoes are beginning to ripen, along with green beans, so there's a possibility we can offer those next week (I hope so!). Carrots just didn't do anything, beets are slow after the rain, squash was ruined by the rain, and potatoes are late. But the beans and tomatoes are looking great for the near future and the garlic is great. Also, thanks to drier weather now, we are tilling and planting more crops for August and September's harvests.

ROCK RUN CREEK FARM – Francis Ngoh

  • Beets

  • Zucchini

  • Yellow Squash

  • Cucumber
